Easy to get to park in the garage underground come out at center commercial and they are right in front of you. Nice staff very helpful and the owner is there most of the time.
It's located in the Sol Mar mall on the Avenida and waterfront. I had carrot soup, fish and vegetables with the chocolate mousse for dessert and enjoyed it all. The waitress was first rate and very attentive. She was fluent in English which made it easy for me since my Portuguese is minimal. The location is more of a diner than a restaurant but that is the nature of being in a mall. As with most places here, food is very reasonable and fresh. It wasn't my first choice but be aware that during the holiday season, many restaurants are closed for several weeks. Would return without hesitation.
We went here for dinner on a Sunday when mot places were closed. We were happy with our meals for the prices. This isn't fancy food. If you want fancy food, head to Boca de Cena (seriously, go there). I had the chicken kabob (HUGE) and my husband had a pasta with ham and bacon. He said it could have used a little more flavour, but was satisfied after as was I. We went back one afternoon later that week for 9 euro pitchers of sangria. Can't go wrong with that!
Restaurante Jardim do Petisco is part of a shopping centre and stands beside Av. Infante D. Henrique, the promenade at Ponta Delgada. For €18.00 I had bread, soup of the day (vegetable), grilled grouper with potatoes and vegetables, 0.4L of beer and an expresso. It was good, but not in the same class as the lunch that I had the previous day in Restaurante Nacional.
Although the menu was not spectacular whatever you order will taste lovely and is excellent value for money. We ate here twice and were not disappointed. Would recommend the seafood rice it was plentiful and tasted delicious. The sangria was the best I have ever had...
