Unterer Schafberg - Pontresina

Stopped by here a few hours before they closed for the off-season... choices were limited but what convinced us most was the kind service and friendly attitude. would go back any time... don 't think there 's any inside seating. but we loved our lunch on the 'terrace '

We stopped by the restaurant on our Muottas Muragl panorama hike and had a nice lunch nothing fancy, just sandwiches and a good homemade potato salad while we sat beneath Coca Cola umbrellas ! on the terrace. A trio of servers provided friendly and surprisingly fast service. While the food hit the spot, the real highlight here was the views: directly across towards the Val Roseg and the high peaks at the upper end of the valley, as well as back towards Sils Maria and the mountains surrounding the lake. The Munt de la Bes cha was a good place to pause for a simple pit stop with a view on the panorama trail.
