El Potro Mexican - Pooler

I am a regular customer here (usually eating in the evenings on the way home from work) and this is the best Mexican food in the city! They are always friendly, and they prepare the food quickly, but everything somehow looks and tastes perfect! I don't know how they do it!

This place is absolutely legendary! I would give it a perfect 10/10 and could eat here forever. The cheese dip is simply spectacular, and the taquitos? Perfection! The taco salad, tamales, and tacos were all outstanding too. I’ve definitely found my new favorite restaurant!

The food was excellent, and the restaurant was generally well-kept. The service was outstanding, and the staff were very attentive. The buffet offered a good selection, but the food should be kept out for better presentation. We deducted a star because the bathroom was not clean, and there were no labels on the food bar. We mistakenly thought we were eating Fujita chicken, but it turned out to be mixed with chorizo, which is pork, and we don't eat pork. Clear labeling would have been very helpful.

Update 8/12/20: On my way north, I decided to stop in. I had the tamales again, and they were just as delicious as ever. The restaurant remains clean and welcoming inside. V, the hostess, was wearing a cool official El Potro mask—I want one too! I’m upgrading my rating to 5 stars for the consistent quality over four visits. This spot is a gem just off I-95. I also tried the lunch buffet, and it was good. I’ll definitely be back to explore the traditional Mexican dishes. The staff is always friendly too!
