Homestead Cookhouse - Port Alberni

We did an afternoon visit to Port Alberni and stopped at the waterfront for a quick lunch. What a total gem. We had the Classic Hot dog, bacon and cheese, with grilled onions. Bun was hot just like I like it. Sooooooooooo good. The hot dog is grilled. Covered in cheese and several slices of bacon. Very filling. I wish I was close enough to go back and try their other items. Wonderful ladies looking to please.

Good sandwiches and hotdogs. Quick service and good value for your money. Great brisket sandwich. Some days the lady has homemade soup too. The smoked chicken sandwich is the best I think. All sandwiches come on ciabatta buns and are very generous portions

Stopped in Port Alberni on our way from Tofino to Victoria last summer and decided to try Homestead Cookhouse. So glad we did. The women were super friendly and welcoming and extremely accommodating. Working in their tiny kitchen, they produce awesome meat and great sandwiches. Too bad we live in Ontario or we'd be back over and over again. Congrats on your great little place. Hope you stay around for a long time

We stop here often and have always had very tasty food and great service. We love the Yukon panfries and the Bison Burger is great - nothing processed but fresh and home made. Outside seating in dry weather or sit inside just a few steps across the courtyard if it is cool or wet. This is also a great place to watch the water and the people enjoying their surroundings.

Had some chili and pulled pork sandwich. Ok they're homemade but no there's effort to make it delicious. At this stage impossible to recommend
