Waves Coffee House - Port Coquitlam

Glad to know that I am not the only one who is raising concerns about the owner. He is rude. Plain and simple. I can see why he might get frustrated with people sitting at his tables and not buying anything, but I was a paying customer.First experience: Bought an ice coffee and sat down. Got up to ask him for the code to the bathroom and he didn't care to tell me. Everyone else who needed to use it got the same response. Fortunately someone was already in the washroom so we just took turns holding the door open for one another.Second experience: I ordered a REGULAR ice coffee. He said something to his wife in Farsi, grabbed a Waves sized cup and charged me for it. I didn't want to deal with the inevitable argument so I just paid for it and left.Recommendation: Take Five is across the street. It's a bit more expensive but you don't have to deal with the owner. There's also a Starbucks in the Safeway in nearby. Walk there also.

The service at this restaurant is exceptional and the atmosphere is incredible! You feel well taken care of and valued as a guest when you're there. The whole team always goes above and beyond to make sure you have a truly amazing experience that will beckon you to return. I highly recommend making this place a regular stop in your routine, or just for a special treat! You'll probably see me there again soon. Wheelchair accessibility is available with easy access to the entrance and plenty of room inside to move around.

An uncomfortable experience with the owner, Fariborz. I often bring my employees to this cafe to support my neighbor (I live in the same neighborhood). This weekend, internet was down in my house, and I had a time-sensitive task to complete. Unfortunately, the owner coerced me to leave as i had not bought coffee from him. His argument was that the space being occupied by me (i.e., one individual) affects his sales, even though one third of the store was empty during my presence. I found the owner coercive and unsympathetic—not sure if will I continue to take my team to this cafe in the future.

I normally don't like chain cafes but this one is special to me and my partner. We sometimes drive 30 minutes just to get there and get their perfect Moca with Spinach feta cheese. I love the couple who are working there :

We have always loved mochas and especially enjoyed the spinach bistro pastry at this restaurant. The owners were friendly and the ambiance was pleasant.
