We were referred to this spot and it definitely lived up to the hype. The gelato was outstanding, and the service was just as impressive. The staff were really lovely! I highly recommend trying the coffee flavor.

Capannina is one of the best spots to get ice cream in Port Douglas! They offer a fantastic variety of ice cream and cakes. One highlight is their incredible deal of two scoops of ice cream for just $5, while other ice cream shops in the area charge $5 for just one scoop! This makes it the perfect destination for anyone craving ice cream.

This is possibly the best and most delicious ice cream gelato in Queensland, served with a friendly smile. I think I’m addicted. If you’re in Port Douglas you have to try for yourself....

The woman who seems to run or own the place—I'm unsure of her name—is incredibly passionate about her gelato. She encourages you to sample the flavors before making a decision, and she explains the effort that goes into crafting the gelato and developing the flavors, which enhances the whole experience. We’ve visited every night during our stay in Port Douglas, and I would highly recommend it over other gelato shops in the area, which offer mass-produced options with simpler flavors at higher prices. What really stands out about Capannina is that a small cup of gelato costs just $5, which is very reasonable since that price includes two flavors. I’d gladly pay that every day of the week for such enjoyable, fresh gelato served by enthusiastic and friendly staff.
