Fen - PORT FAIRY

We enjoyed the five course set tasting menu, it was excellent. Generous serves, extremely well prepared, presented and composed. Every dish was delicious, and introduced when served. Atmosphere is fairly casual, bare tables, but excellent stoneware, glassware and cutlery. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, professional and pleasant. Excellent wine list, with both by the glass and 375ml carafe options.In summary a very enjoyable experience. Not cheap but representing value for money.

This was certainly the highlight of our weekend away. Our dining experience was absolutely amazing, the menu had a vast array of locally sourced ingredients. We selected the 5 course degustation, we couldn't decide which course was our favourite as each one was outstanding. Each course was expertly matched to an equally delicious wine, we had a wonderful night and can't wait to visit again.

From our warm welcome on a chilly mid winter Saturday night, we adored our 5 course degustation menu. The locally sourced menu was wonderfully innovative and beautifully presented. So many favourites such as the crab, macadamia, Davidson plum and finger lime or the local lamb, Warrigal greens, eggplant, feta and wattle seed. But perhaps our 'Aha' moment was a complementary extra dish of quince ice cream quenelle with a raspberry powder coating, prior to the official dessert being served. Our window table decorated on the sill with whimsical driftwood and candles, let us enjoy the Main Street of Port Fairy. A fabulous restaurant, that only adds to Victoria's regional fine dining options.

Both my husband and I chose the 8 course degustation. It was a little more than that though. The staff were amazingly well informed and on the ball, so hats off to the chef for preparing them well. Every dish was a treat, local produce enhanced to dance on the pallet. I was totally satisfied with the variety of local produce, amazing flavours put together to compliment each other and I could go on. Well done , what a great place to have in such a beautiful seaside town, we will be back next time we are in the area .

We dined at Fen after reading reviews and were not disappointed. Amazing degustation with unusual ingredients and flavours. Wasn't big fan of the abalone but my husband loved it all. We rolled out feeling we received real value for money.
