Railside - Port Hope

I have been to this restaurant 10 years ago and I still remember the yummy steak .. today we came back and checked out... The restaurant is renovated to a nice atmosphere. The steak is still the best!

Railside ... what happened to you? New owners? My husband and I both had the pork souvlaki what a joke! Pieces of pork were so small it was ridiculous and dried out. The Greek salad warm, soggy and no taste. Rice was okay. The red potatoes were tasty they were the only thing on the plate that had any flavor. The pita ... stale. The young lady serving was however, was very pleasant. It's so disappointing as we use to love this place. but we certainly won't be returning.

Overall, the experience here was absolutely terrible. The waiter was nice but It’s a filthy disgusting place. The food is awful. I saw the waiter drop a cup, and instead of washing it, she immediately put it back. The food is horrendous. Its got to be some of the worst food I’ve ever eaten I would’ve rather have eaten McDonald’s. I got a poutine and wings. My poutine lacked cheese was mostly gravy. My fries were soggy they taste like they were frozen and then reheated instead of fresh cut the wings were worse, they had been microwaved, and they tasted that way too. The decor is so outdated. It is laughable. Well I’m not a person that cares too much about what a restaurant looks like more about the quality of food. This was an absolute joke. I was served a drink in a plastic cup instead of glass when I go to a nice restaurant and I pay over $100 I expect to have at least a glass cup. The cutlery was dirty, which was absolutely disgusting thankfully my fork wasn’t and that’s the only one that I used. Overall, if you’re looking for a good meal, I’d avoid this place the food is laughable a child can make better food.

We were there on August 12/23 for dinner celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary. Food was fantastic as was the service

Was taken to this restaurant by family whilst on holiday and we all had fantastic prime rib steaks. The restaurant wasn 't busy due to us going in early, but it still had a welcoming atmosphere. Great service too, especially from the Going to California waitress.
