The tuna dish with smoked aubergine was glorious, we have never enjoyed the experience of charred skin with the centre of the tuna verging on ‘tartare’ before, quite delicious. The terrace has good views in both directions and there is ample parking.
Had an amazing dinner in this tiny village for an incredibly low price. Cozy and at the same time classy atmosphere with excellent and knowledgeable staff.
This is a restaurant which was recommended to us by some acquaintances in the area. Unfortunately for us there was a family with two small misbehaving children who ran screaming around the restaurant with no interference from either the parents or the management. I feel that management should definitely interfere when this type of disturbance is ignored by the parents and hinders the enjoyment of other guests. Food was good, and service was also good.
Staying in a nearby hotel we were offered this as an alternative to the hotel restaurant and we had high hopes. Sadly they were soon dished as we were ushered to a table by a window overlooking a hardstanding and not much else. The menu is limited (which is usually a positive) but the options quite eclectic and uninspiring. (Chicken and mushrooms with pasta, smoked salmon, bavette de boeuf) The wine offering is chiefly Jura and not great value. be warned, Jura wines are an acquired taste, but good ones can be really interesting. Bread was not particularly fresh, and the dishes all a bit dull. Service was generally good but the ambience was that of a 1990 's cafe which on this evening had noisy poorly behaved children from the nearby campsite and a mix of other tourists all of whom appeared equally baffled as us as to why this place has score o highly in the past. We came away very disappointed.
From the moment we sat down to our table and there were delicious gougere waiting for us, we felt welcome. I had a special request for no eggs in the vinaigrette for my asparagus, which was accommodated. My husband chose the vegetarian menu and was very pleased. A wonderful meal for our last night in the French countryside.
