Well came for Cricket matches and they are right next to Courtyard. The only thing good was service. Food was bad. Malai Kofta was sweet and Kofta were bad. Dal very basic was so so. No taste to the food. Many more indian restaurant better than this joint. We left the food on the table and got pizza from upstairs.
My main issue with my experience at apsara was the fact that they did not serve us the on the house papadams. Apsara served all the other tables that night except ours. I dined in on a Tuesday night... with only 3-5 tables occupied for the duration of our stay which was pretty easy-going and slow. I only realised that they didn't give us any papadams when a new bunch of customers came in and they served them. When I asked the first server why they didn't serve us, we she told us it was because we didn't ask for it. Can someone tell me in what world must the customer request the in the house filler? I pointed out that we didn't know we were supposed to ask for it and that if this was the first time someone was coming to the restaurant.. they obviously wouldn't know about the papadams or if to ask for it. A second server, an elderly lady them came to say the reason we didn't get the papadams was because we didn't order an appetizer and that we went straight to main course, and didn't buy Thai food which takes longer ... and that we got our food on time, and they usually only give customers who have to wait long for their food I have no idea what kind of rubbish explanation that was as 1) We still had to wait for our food just like everyone else 2) we also bought a Thai dish as well as Indian. 3) The on the house Papadams is a little appetizer so having not ordered our own appetizer... we should have been offered. I do not understand their explanation nor does it apply to us because by their criteria, we should have gotten. Ultimately, they purposely did not serve us the on the house papadams. It wasn't that they genuinely forgot... which can happen as we are only human. They purposely did not serve us the papadams. They clearly treated us unequally and it can be questioned whether this was discriminating. It is all about the principle of it. This was absolutely poor treatment and unkind. Food was okay. I much rather go Palkis or Rasams as their food is better and they don't treat customers unequally and/or unkindly.
Dont be fooled by the nice instagram photos. I’m not usually the person to write a review but I feel obligated to share my experience. I’ll start with the good; the food was tasty….. that’s about it, nothing more nothing less. The bad: service absolutely sucked, we waited 20 minutes to get a drink, and another 40 minutes to get food in a restaurant that was 1/3 full. The staff seemed confused about who were waiting what tables. It almost felt like we were being ignored on purpose. The servers were not friendly either, very short and to the point. Food was also expensive for the serving size. Long story short; the food was tasty but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. I WILL NEVER go to this restaurant again or recommend them. Customer service was extremely poor. Very very underwhelming.
Great food, friendly staff, and a fantastic location with a wonderful atmosphere.
