Update: back again today (lost track of how many times I've been in at this point . Love the pulled pork wrap and the Collard greens are the best I've ever had! I was nearby for work, didn't figure I would find anything more than a candy bar to eat in this quaint little part of town....I was WRONG! Don't be fooled or turned around by this unassuming little brick building, do your stomach a favor and go in! Disregard the booth seats that have more duct tape than fabric, don't pay any attention to the mismatched seats at the tables. Look behind the counter, that's where the magic happens. This somewhat basic kitchen pumps out some amazing food! I was craving pulled pork, so...I went pulled pork wrap with French fries (fries were excellent! The pulled pork was fresh and excellent, the service was as you'd expect in the south...super friendly and welcoming. Now, all I need to do is find another reason to be here for work more often???
$70.00 for 2 orders and no drinks !? This is beyond me !
This is easily the best food anywhere in this whole area. Great atmosphere, amazing food. Do not miss your chance to eat here if you are anywhere nearby. You will not be disappointed.
We shared the brisket platter...very tender and tasty. Sauces are not house-made (Mustard/Sweet Red) they are Sweet Baby Ray sauces. We had collards and slaw with the brisket and two extra sides. Mac-n-Chz and baked beans. All four are best described as good old fashioned soul food! Superb! The banana pudding was not old fashioned but yummy just the same. Staff is friendly. Atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing.
