The dressing was spicy and well mixed with the sandwich. Be careful as this is an unscanny sandwich because of the sauce! The homemade chips were crisp and warm, but the star is definitely Chip Dip AKA Crack Diving!! A mixture of cream cheese and spices played well with the warm chips (you can also not have extra dips). The dog looked delicious, but was very salty and the texture was soft, not a fan.
5 for the service!!!! My husband and I were out fishing in the bay and dragged in late to lunch. We try to support local business and went to downtown Port St. Joe to find something quick to eat so we could head back to fishing. We walked up to Dagwood and after seeing the chalkboard menu outside the building we decided it was a good place to eat but it had just closed, it was just a few minutes after 3pm. As we were walking away from the door, the owner JR arrived to the restaurant and he informed us that he could make us something to go if we were willing to wait. Being hungry, we opted to do that. Within minutes, the owner brought our to go orders, Shrimp tacos (3) Cuban sandwich combo with drinks. When I pulled my credit card to pay since I had no cash, JR told me lunch was on him. That's one reason why local business will be better than the chain restaurants! Another reason, the shrimp tacos was finger licking good. I have a thing for tacos and this was one of the best I've had. It was on toasted tortilla bread, grilled blacken shrimp, coleslaw, pico de gallo remoulade sauce (spicy). My husband had the Cuban that came with chips french onion dip. He said it was good but after eating a Cuban sandwich from a Cuban, there's no comparison. Overall we had an excellent lunch experience. We will definitely go back. This will be on our list of go to places. Highly recommend this ladie for lunch (11-3).
Service and food were both awesome. They close at 3:00 and I called to order at 2:30, which turned out to be right when the kitchen closed. They accommodated me and went ahead with the order anyway! I ordered the Cuban sandwich. Definitely not a traditional Cuban, but I actually loved their version! Super delicious. Always love it when sandwiches come with some crispy kettle chips, and theirs were fantastic. Exceptional food and service! Thank you so much!
No matter what you order, the food is always fresh and delicious! My favorite is the blue shrimp roll or the shrimp tacos. Be sure to try them.
The ladies who worked the window were very polite and welcoming. Quick, pleasant, professional, polite, I ordered the fish tacos, everything was fresh and on point! Delicious! I stole my whole family for this excellent meal. 100% recommend this place. Great experience! I'll eat tomorrow.
