Like JR from the book 'The Tender Bar ', I spent a good offer of my youth in a manhasset icon known as PUBLIC on Plandome Road... after more than 5 decades of life in Australia New Zealand (on and off! I'm back on U.S. soil and parked for the time in Port Washington. I was trying to rekindle a relationship with PUBLIC who reminded me of the proverb... You can never go home again! The crew of PUBLIC nearly, ignored me for the locals, made me feel everything BUT at HOME and strengthened my determination to find a beautiful place, and friendly people... And then, BOOM! During my first visit to Finn's front door I was met with kindness and a bartender (Clone the two 'JIM 's Please! who was thrilled to chat, boast about the beers they had to offer, and let me sample until I found the drop that was inflamed. Other "locals" in the pub were happy to take the bar stool next to the tigers. Even if I broke a baseball cap with MANHASSET 1969! I'm back! Try the French onion soup, the burgers and everything on the menu, really!
We were in the area looking for a place to eat. We were greeted at the door and were able to see the big table with the specials on them. Fortunately, it was meat night. Comfort Food was just what I was looking for. Good service, delicious food and I paired it with a guinness.
Good food served hot! friendly service but slow. Nice atmosphere. $130 for two with 4 drinks tip included.
