La Bergerie - Portel-des-Corbières

This restaurant is in a beautiful area of the Corbières Mountains in southern France, not far from the Mediterranean sea. Craggy hills, old pine trees, a little river are on the property and then an ugly go cart track! The restaurant is located away from that and elegant and quiet. The well priced menus are good to excellent. The "amuse bouche" was outstanding, the first course nicely done and the main course more run of the mill with a great dessert to end the meal. The service was friendly but spotty. The Lastours Rose was excellent.

The Amuse Bouche was excellent, the first course made beautiful and the main course more run of the mill with a large dessert to finish the meal. The service was friendly, but immaculate. The Lastours Rose was excellent.
