Big Boss Grill - Porterville

Please don't come here. I first tried them a few months ago when their address was still on Olive. There food was decent. It was something different me and the family decided to try. We came back to eat at their new location on HWY 190. This is such a horrible place to serve food. It's a part of the Valero now and the inside smells bad. There are flies everywhere outside of it and in. The conditions are also very unsanitary. They have a fish tank in there with koi that stinks and a bird cage with parakeets on the counter across from the kitchen. There are all kinds of little feathers on the counter and I can only imagine what gets on the kitchen counters since they're next to each other.Please come eat here with caution. I'm surprised they're able to even serve food in those conditions.

Me and my mom ate here looking for a good baked potato but what we got, looked half done. It was just cut once through the middle and the cheese wasn’t even melted. My mom asked a the girl at the counter what cheese is on here. She commented back look at the menu. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak steak baked potato. worst baked potato ever. They put the wrong type of cheese on it and barely any meat not worth the time. Super dry.

Got a tri tip sandwich and it was very dry and not very good in general. My gf got the pulled pork and it was vile- the meat smelled and tasted old. The lady working was extremely nice and I feel bad leaving this review but I was so disappointed by the food i had to: also the restaurant started smelling horrible to the point we moved outside. Very unappetizing.

6/18/23 Getting lunch for tomorrow. Grilled chicken sandwich rib dinner ordered.Greeted upon walking in and the worker was kind. Paid for the order and told it would be ready in a couple minutes. The he restaurant is clean and safe. Small, with red chairs. A cute photograph of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis and James Dean on the wall. Other pictures like that on the wall too. Order ready shortly later and handed over with good day wishes. 6/19/23 Lunchtime! Lunch split. Half of the grilled chicken sandwich was really good! Chicken cooked well with fresh bread. It came with fries aka chips. They were good too! A rib was really tasty. Tender. Easy to take off the bone. Half of the potato salad was okay. Not flavorful. Garlic bread was good. Baked beans were good and had flavor. Mother said her half was good. She liked the chicken sandwich, chip fries and rib. She didn't care much for the potato salad either and said it didn't have much flavor. Good service and most of the lunch was good with leftovers.

Came here with my husband on fathers day. Had the french dip and my husband had the pastrami burger. Very good. Service was on point. Took a pizza home for later..Kid-friendliness: Very invitingWheelchair accessibility: Lots of open space for a wheelchair
