I ordered the veggie breakfast and specified a milk allergy when I ate the sausages I realized that it contained cheese, they were apologetic, but it is not really good enough. they were also good enough to separate that they had no seperate frit for vegetarians/vegans. no vegan alternative to butter so was served dry toast. updated by previous review on 2022-08-23
I had hesitated to try this place in the past because it looks like a typical greasy spoon, but I decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, the vegan options were very limited. I ordered the veggie breakfast and mentioned my milk allergy, but when I tried the sausages, I realized they contained cheese. While the staff were apologetic, that’s not really acceptable. They also informed me that they don’t have a separate fry for vegetarians or vegans. Additionally, there were no vegan alternatives to butter, so my toast was served dry. This is an update based on my previous review from August 23, 2022.
The menu offers a limited selection of vegan options, but there is also a vegan pasty that isn't listed or labeled. We asked one of the staff members, and he was very helpful with the vegan choices, even heating the pasties for us to take out. The chickpea curry pasty was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it!
This is a vibrant and popular café/restaurant with a wide variety of items on display for customers to choose from, including pastries, quiches, cakes, and more. However, the selection of vegan products is somewhat limited. The establishment also offers a full restaurant menu with a broader range of meal options. It's informative and dog-friendly, with seating available out front. This review has been updated from the previous one dated September 23, 2021.
