O Holandes Dos Caracois - Portimão

Very friendly owner who made the experience here very nicely. A Dutch man, with an matching Dutch apron and good humor. We had the small sea snail, which we never had before but tasted amazing (and very, very garlicy haha). The portion was enormous and there were several locals eating here at the same time (which is a good sign) if you ask us. Would recommend and come here again!

On three visits to the lovely unassuming town of Portimão this last year we have stopped in and eaten at O Holandes dos Caracois. On each occasion we have had different dishes...fish/chicken/sausage whatever. All have been good to great tasting and plentiful. The service has always been charming. The restaurant is situated on the edge of the delightful fishermen's quarter just above the old Sardine Factory.....now the museum. Well worth a try for a good meal.

I am snail addict and everytime I get the chance I will go to this restaurant. The service is impeccable, the food amazing, the snails are great and it has a good variety of other portuguese typical options for the non snail lovers. I tried recently the Lingueirão (Razor Shell) and it was equally good.
