Bagel Land - Portland

I hadn't visited this restaurant in years because the owner and staff always seemed unhappy. I gave it another try today, but the same atmosphere was present. I ordered a bagel sandwich without cucumbers, but I received cucumbers and no cream cheese. On the bright side, the bagel was pretty good, even if it was a bit dry.

This place has been known for having the best bagels in Portland for over 30 years. However, ever since Ben sold it, the new owners seem to struggle with keeping enough stock for the day. It's unacceptable to be out of bagels by 10 a.m. I've lost count of how many times I've gone in only to find that most of the flavors are sold out. They're missing out on potential revenue; I often see customers walk in and then leave empty-handed because their desired bagels aren’t available. This was never an issue when Ben was in charge. Additionally, there’s a noticeable reduction in cream cheese servings, and the coffee quality has dropped significantly. If you can get the bagel you want, it’s still the best, but I'm close to giving up on this place entirely due to their frequent shortages.

The bagels are amazing! If I lived nearby, I would definitely come here every day.
