Contribuisci feedbackWe had a mixed experience at our table, but overall, I really enjoyed it. I ordered the jalapeño hush puppies and the strawberry dish, both of which were fantastic. I appreciated the doughnut-inspired theme throughout the menu. However, the kids weren't fans of their chicken and waffles. My wife didn't enjoy her carrot cake dessert either, and she didn't like the basic serving trays, saying they reminded her of wartime dining. That's her opinion, but I stand by my choices—I think I ordered well!
I have to admit, I was taken aback by the prices when I arrived. Since I was meeting others, leaving wasn’t an option. The cost is definitely on the higher side. However, I can't emphasize enough how amazing and innovative the food was. While this isn't a place I'd visit regularly due to the expense and the hearty portions, it's an excellent spot for special occasions or when you have guests wanting a fantastic brunch.
Went with my husband. I think the Benedict was ordinary. The biscuit and gravy was very tasty, speaking from a person who never order this dish. We couldn’t have enough Apple pie churros, which was also delicious.
To start, I ordered a piña colada and a cup of black drip coffee. The piña colada was fantastic, with a salty twist that I really enjoyed. The coffee was strong and delicious, making the experience worthwhile, especially for the boozy drink and the coffee, which, while not extraordinary, was still quite good. For savory dishes, I chose the popcorn chicken and waffles, while my partner went for the chorizo biscuits. My meal featured perfectly breaded and cooked chicken, complemented by a really tasty waffle. My partner’s biscuit balls were tough at first, but once cut open, they were soft inside. The gravy was amazing with a nice kick, and the chorizo was flavorful without being too greasy. The biscuit balls had a subtle herby sweetness, and the roasted red peppers on the side were a nice touch, giving the option to add them. For dessert, I had the strawberry bars, and they chose the apple pie churro. My strawberry bars, with their jelly-like compote, were incredibly delicious—no complaints at all! Their churro, wow! The pistachio streusel was fantastic—so light and fluffy that I could eat it by the bagful. The donut was a bit doughy, which I wasn't sure was intentional or slightly undercooked, but I liked the crispy exterior. The custard was perfectly balanced in sweetness, complementing the apples beautifully. Overall, I wished I could give half stars because I would only deduct half a point. My only minor complaint was that everything felt a bit too close together due to Covid, and the curtain at the tiny window kept brushing against me, which was a bit annoying. However, the food was spectacular—spicy when it needed to be and sweet at the right moments. It was an incredible experience overall!
Loved the idea of a flat price for a savory and sweet dish with a drink. The price was reasonable for the quality. Reason for the four stars is due to how heavy most of the dishes are – would love to see some suggested combos on the menu to help prevent customers from getting two very heavy dishes.
