Good Japanese style curry. Great portion, neither too less or to much.A great thing I like about this restaurant is its location or atmosphere. If you come here during sunset there’ll be plenty of natural light through the window, making your food bright and shiny. The restaurant is so close to the metro rails, when the metro drives by the windows you can even feel the shaking of the rails. This suddenly makes me so nostalgic for the curry shops around the light rail stops in Osaka.
The BEST place for Japanese curry. Limited menu but the best food you can find anywhere. Quality has been maintained throughout the years. We’ve been going to this place for years and still can’t miss it while driving through Portland. The service is great very kind, courteous, welcoming experience. Since they moved, the space is limited but they have made the most of the space with plenty of seating. There is parking right outside the restaurant, but there is also a paid lot across the street. It’s Portland so I don’t park more than half a block away and I’ve never had issues finding parking. It’s a MUST when in Portland!
Kale is a great little Japanese restaurant and is a short walk from the Saturday Market. The food here is simple and very tasty. They have 4 curry options, I tried two and was very impressed. The restaurant is pretty small and very limited seating. Not very handicap accessible seating except for 1 or 2 seats. When we went it was very busy and run solely by one worker and he did an excellent job and was very happy, helpful and friendly.Vegetarian options: I got the Kale Doria and its super good and a little spicy with the veggie curry.
Delicious food in small venue. We went approaching 2 pm and a table opened up just in time. Order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. The basic dish is white rice with a mildly spicy brown sauce having either a chicken- or beef-stock base. You can order extras such as chicken, cheese, or vegetables. The sauce was very flavorful and the portion size just right for lunch with no leftovers. The tables were clean and the staff friendly.
