Amazing salsas, sopaipilla to die for, Chile relleno is second to no one , flavor train flavor town, and don't skip the coconut flan. I've been looking for Mexican food to quench the search for quality and La Panza is it!
Great food and great service! Being from NM, and hearing about this NM spot, I had to try it. Huevos Rancheros Christmas style with a side of Posole..... perfection! The chile was flavorful with decent heat. If I wasn't so full, I would have ordered a Sopapilla!!! I will be back though!
One of the best meals I've eaten all year. It was so nice to find a place that reminded me so strongly of home. Great food, great chile, great people!!!
I'm sure many of the locals are not aware of La Panza Cafe, it's hidden behind the Plaid Pantry on 26th and Divion. Those that have discovered this gem are glad it's here. I'm not from New Mexico, but was introduced to the restaurant by a freind who is. She like all the other New Mexicans who have commented on La Panza says it's the real deal. Either way is great food in a cozy little restaurant.
I am from New Mexico, and therefore I know what NM Traditional Food is this is it. You do need to specify how hot you want it, but that is the only thing, other than that, yes, this is The One And Only Place to eat Mexican Cuisine in Portland Oregon. The owners, the wait staff, the cooks, all are spectacular and the food is worth driving from anywhere in the city to get. You will not be disappointed. Check the hours of operation before you go. 26th ave at Division.
