Little River Cafe - Portland

The ambiance reminds me a little of the Venice boardwalk, with scooters, skaters and dragon boat racers walking by. Had the vegan fieldroast sandwich (delish) and vegan avocado toast (also good). Portland could use more riverside restaurants!

Charming restaurant located on the riverwalk. I enjoyed the avocado toast, which was fantastic, and they offered non-dairy milk options for nearly all drinks (coffees, hot chocolates, and more). The servers were knowledgeable about vegan options, making it easy to navigate the menu.

I had an excellent experience at the café. There was no wait for a seat, which is a nice change in Portland. Located right on the waterfront, it offered a lovely view of the river. The café was clean, and the staff quickly cleared tables as diners finished, making room for new guests. The coffee was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal; everything was cooked to perfection. I ordered the sweet breakfast, which allowed me to savor the delicious pancakes, and I was delighted that they were served with sweet cream and some fruit. The bacon was perfectly cooked as well. One of my friends tried the salmon bagel sandwich, and it looked really enticing—I think I'll go for that next time. Another friend had a dish with potatoes, which she loved, and the rest of us agreed they were tasty too. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this gem to others!

I ordered the French toast and found it to be rather average. It was thick, which I liked, and it wasn’t too eggy, but overall, it just felt mediocre. The fresh whipped cream that accompanied it was a highlight—thick and sweet, and really delicious. I also appreciated that the cashier mentioned I could get a half order. Since I had already eaten breakfast and wasn't very hungry, I just wanted to sample it, so that was a thoughtful option. Additionally, the location on the riverfront is a nice touch; the views are lovely.

The food is decent, but it feels overpriced for what you receive. The staff is friendly, and there's a lovely view of the river along with a nice waterfront walkway.
