Mestizo - Portland

The food was tasty and reasonably priced. We ordered guacamole and chips. I?m still trying to understand why they don?t serve their chips warm. We also ordered the hongos en salsa roja. The oyster mushrooms and spinach were a tasty combination. Weordered fried fish tacos and a mestizo salad bowl with shrimp for our meals. It was odd that the tacos were served at thebeginning with guacamole, and the salad was served at the end. All gluten-free!

This place was delicious and exciting. Ordered the empanadas, elote, coconut ceviche, and blossom flower tacos. All were great to be shared and enjoyed by two people. There was some mishaps during our time there like mixed up drink order and a littlelonger wait on food but the customer service was attentive and very apologetic. It can be very loud with the music and how busyit gets inside so be prepared to speaking loudly. Overall a solid choice.

The energy of Mestizo is one of a kind and all the dishes are packed with the flavor of love. Woman and BIPOC owned, is enough to gain my support. Thank you for bringing this gem to Portland and providing unmatched service.

I love everything about Mestizo. Woman and AAPI owned. Incredible staff. Welcoming space and ambiance. Beautiful outdoor sitting. Great mocktails and cocktails. And everything on the menu is delicious. Nan, the owner even hosts pop ups for localbipoc entrepreneurs and chefs. Highly recommend ????

The food was colorful and flavorful. Both my husband and I loved the Beyond Meat empanadas and the fish tacos. Loved that they were gluten free. The mezcal cocktails were delicious too.
