I like to Google a place and check out the average score so I was surprised to see this place only at 4 stars. I was apprehensive at first, but I miss the all you can eat Indian buffet experience. As of November 2022 for lunch, it was only $14and this place totally blew me away! I normally skip the rice at Indian buffets, but the chicken Briyani here is out of thisworld! The chicken within the rice was even better than the ones they had in the curries. Which brings me to my one negativeview... The butter chicken here is not very good and it is more of a tomato stew than anything. However, it redeems itself withthe awesome Coconut and Mango flavored ice cream machine. I would come here just for that! This is my new go-to spot in Oregonnow. The parking lot looked kinda scary and there were a lot of people roaming around, but they mean no harm :
This place I's good. Been eating here since 2001. If your hungry and you can't cook for yourself and you have limited money to eat. $14 before 3pm and $18 after 3pm come here and fill up. I don't think you'll regret it as the buffet has some thing for alltastes. We have turned up for lunch once a week for the past three weeks; what I've noticed is some days the food was muchbetter and tastier then other days. Our last visit was this past Thursday 17 Nov 2022 and the head chef must have been in thekitchen because the food flavour was over all much better. All the employees here are very nice and their is one or two thathave worked there for many years. The reason for only 4 stars ..... They tend to use the same ingredients always potatoes, peaszucchini don't get me wrong consistency is good. But you hardly ever if ever see any thing other then these same veggies. Theonly other reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the food lacks spice I guess I shouldn't say any thing because this is not asouth Indian restaurant. But we still just so wish and that they would spice the food more . I sincerely hope this placestays open for many years to come. If you look around Portland and Vancouver most of the Indian buffets have all shut down sincethe pandemic and; they have not reopened . Which is sad. I'm thankful Namaste is still up and in business
Food is amazing and there ais a large offering for a buffet. Service is ok but nothing special. The atmosphere is nice and clean but very dated and in a sketchy part of town.
Own building on encircling lot off Sandy with entrance in rear, opens into foyer with interesting art piece. Inside is a tile floor with glass top tables, chairs and window booths where you wait to be seated and asked about drinks. Then help yourself to a center island with 50 plus different items of food. Labeled items are in salad, vegetarian and meat sections featuring mostly chicken one goat dish. Three large rice cookers, and flatbread provided to soak up the mostly wet food with powerful spices. The sound of clacking plates continuously bussed and loud refrigerators fill the echoing space. Dinged up wall corners at chair level and stickiness underfoot round out the music free ambiance. The flavors of Indian food are amazing and these will not disappoint the adventurous, experienced consumers might be more critical of particular mass production. First timers can get a spoonful of each item and Indian expats were present and seem to have focused on specific items and multiple plates at once. I would return occasionally
