I am confused as to why this restaurant has an average rating of 3.9. I visit here once a week and consistently enjoy the delicious food and friendly staff. Portland was in need of a great rotisserie spot and Pollo Norte definitely delivers. I would give it 5 stars without hesitation. While it may not be the most affordable option, the high-quality, quick meals they offer are well worth the price.
The Oregonian reviewers have deemed this restaurant to be fantastic. They follow a simple yet effective formula for creating delicious food. The chicken and sides are seasoned wonderfully, although they can be a bit too salty for my personal preferences. However, this is a common complaint I have at many restaurants. The best food doesn't have to be strictly authentic; adapting it for American tastes can lead to a more successful dining experience.
I've been to this place 3 times and thought it was some of the best Mexican food and chicken I've had in Portland. It's been a few months since I was last there, but everything at every visit the chicken was flavorful and delicious. And the sides complemented everything perfectly. I'll be going there again within the week and I'll report back if anything has changed. But for right now, the negative reviews are really puzzling. This place is terrific and affordable.
I really enjoyed the place. Parking was tight and a bit weird. Some folks just parked across the street. Definitely a hole in the wall with limited seating and bare bones decor. It fits here, though. You're about to have some simple, simply good food from some simply nice staff. The simple menu is refreshing. The chicken is very good, and we loved the gravy potatoes.
