After spending over $100 for our party of five, we noticed on the menu that any bottle of wine can be purchased with a $30 discount. This isn’t a special deal; it’s something anyone can do at any time—you just have to take the bottle with you. So, I paid $16 for a glass of wine, while the bottled version is $58 if opened there, but I could buy that same bottle for just $28 if I went in and purchased it to take away? None of this adds up.
We stopped by this restaurant after having dinner at Cibo next door. It was a busy Saturday night, and we sat at the bar, which is our preferred spot. The staff was friendly, but they seemed quite busy throughout the evening, which caused some delays in taking orders and serving food. I highly recommend the deviled eggs; they're made with cream cheese and are the epitome of smooth, creamy deviled eggs. We particularly enjoyed the ones topped with a Parmesan crisp. They were so good that we ordered a second round! The wine selection was plentiful and varied, making it definitely worth a try. While it’s not cheap, you definitely get what you pay for.
We visited this restaurant to celebrate my mom's birthday, and we all had a fantastic time. I admit I'm not really into wine, but the food here is exceptional. Our group was entirely vegetarian, with one person having a gluten allergy, yet Oui managed to accommodate all our requests and even prepared a special menu for us. Thank you for such a wonderful experience; we will definitely be back!
I had a very disappointing experience at the Wine Collective. The idea about this place is amazing, the wine list is promising and interesting but the delivery and the prices are not matching. We asked the waitress to recommend us two glasses from theOregon region. We were served two glasses of pinot in cheap tasting glasses and after a bit of smelling, one of the wines, thatcame highly recommended smelled very off. We asked for a new one, and I have to admit the waitress was very apologetic and gaveus a new glass. Here is the thing! We ended up paying $39 for 2 glasses of wine. One from a local winemaker that makes the winein house and another from a local producer. This was served in small wine glasses and the waitress served us a wine that hadbeen opened at least a few days earlier. It was two of the most expensive glasses of wine I have ever purchased in a wine bar(and I have visited wine bars all over the world), and quality and price simply did not add up. I always feel bad about leavinga terrible review. But an establishment like this has to deliver when they set the bar high.
The annual Memorial Day weekend wine tasting at Southeast Wine Collective is not to be missed! I mean, unlimited sampling of some of the finest Oregon wines; how can you go wrong? Okay, fine, I was cut off (politely with a smile) after my fourth sampleof a Cabernet Sauvignon, but only because she was down to her last bottle. And the ambiance is equally great stacked barrelseverywhere. Everyone becomes very friendly after about the first 10 minutes. Highly recommend.
