Steakadelphia - Portland

Thirty-five years ago, I lived in West Chester, PA, and since then, I’ve experienced a lot of disappointment. However, I felt a spark of excitement when I heard them cooking—the sound of a good cheesesteak being made! It was fantastic, and I will definitely be going back.

This has been my favorite cheesesteak spot in Portland for many years. I usually order the 12” cheesesteak with creamy white American cheese and add tomatoes, mushrooms, sweet peppers, mild peppers, bell peppers, and pineapple. It creates a fantastic combination, and the extra toppings are complimentary! I often go for the 12” XL, which gives you more meat and double cheese—plenty to share with my wife along with some fries. Even a simple beef cheesesteak with white American cheese and onions is excellent. The bread is sourced from Philly, and the meat is chopped ribeye, just like they do in Philly. While some people prefer Grant’s cheesesteaks, I believe Steakadelphia is the best and I highly recommend it! Their burgers and fries are also really delicious.

If they toasted the bread and added a bit more steak these would easily be the best cheese steak sandwich in Portland! I’ve had 20+ cheese steaks in Portland and crazy enough Steakadelphia and Jersey Mikes are battling for the top spot!

Superb! I got the classic Philly cheesesteak substituted the onions for one of the many free add ons, which I was pleasantly surprised to see available. I loved it so much. It was excellent!

My recent visits have been marred by excessively loud music, making it necessary to shout my order. Unfortunately, this resulted in a mix-up with my order because they couldn't hear me. I'll gladly restore my 5-star rating once getting the order right takes priority over the music. That said, the food is genuinely authentic Philly fare—it's the best I've had on this side of the country! If you're a cheesesteak enthusiast looking for the real deal, or if you’ve relocated from Philadelphia and miss the flavors of home, this place is a must-visit.
