With only a week left before the party, I reached out again, and an email informed me that the cupcakes would be ready the morning of the event. When I called the bakery yesterday to confirm the number of cupcakes and possibly order a few extras, they told me I could come pick them up in a few hours. However, when I arrived, there was no mini cake for my son to blow out candles. The cashier felt bad and threw in some extra cupcakes they had on hand and handed me a large box. I had to leave quickly since my two young sons were waiting in the car, and one had fallen asleep. Upon returning home, my family was shocked by what I brought. My mother-in-law suggested I try one to ensure they were even edible. When my husband took a bite, he found a hair in his cupcake. Now, when I try to call the bakery, no one answers, and their website is down. Whatever struggles this business is facing, I truly wish them well, but what they did to us was unacceptable. They could have contacted me to explain the situation or at least offered a refund for what I received. I remember when I met with Justine, she mentioned that her husband is Black and that her family is blended. I had been recommending this bakery to friends because I support BIPOC-owned businesses. This situation has left me heartbroken. Justine Flaherty and Kenric Craver, I hope you see this—please take responsibility. Update: I tried to contact the owners via email, thinking they might be unaware of what happened. I managed to reach Kenric and sent a message regarding the order issue. However, he blocked me and reported me to my employer and even called the police?
Many of the cupcakes had a rather subtle flavor. The flavor options sounded appealing, but as someone with a big sweet tooth, they didn't fully satisfy my craving. This is just my personal opinion, of course. Additionally, the texture was a bit crumbly, and I was hoping for a more indulgent experience. However, the white chocolate cherry shortbread was excellent! The glaze complemented it perfectly, and the way the shortbread crumbles in your mouth is delightful.
This review is for their catering service. Our order was accepted several days in advance, and we were notified that morning that it would be ready at the scheduled time. 30 minutes before I go to pick up the order, they cancelled it, leaving me to scramble to feed 15 people. When called they offered no explanation. I’ve ordered from them several times for office lunches and it’s always been a great experience in the past. Unfortunately we won’t be using them again.Edit: Thanks for responding (updated to 3 stars), ez-cater let me know that the order was cancelled on your end with the reason given as lack of product.
Attractive modern-industrial bakery Cafe, with beautiful looking baked goods and cupcakes. I sampled 3 different types of cupcakes and was underwhelmed by each.The generous buttercream toppings adorning each cupcake (Strawberry, Chocolate, and ? were bland, and the cakes dry and flavorless. No better than MOC or Safeway, just less sugary sweet.
