It seemed like they wanted to close early, or just not have anyone eat inside, even though we arrived well before the close, fully vaxxed with proof, and it was also a Friday night on Belmont. There were two people behind the bar and one was making our crepes and mentioned to his coworker that they were out of something for the Chocolate crepe and she just shrugged casually. and said it 's fine without. Would have rather that they turned to us and said something like we are out of x ingredient but can substitute or something It made the whole experience a bit awkward and unwelcoming.
Vegetarian review Suzette is a super cute cafe which is recommended by my friend as a place with strong flavours and good crepes. Unfortunately the flavours were way to strong for me to enjoy. I got the green shakshuka crepe, the Marsala soaked figs and amandine and grilled cheese. The green shakshuka was not at all like shakshuka I could really just taste leeks and chards with feta. The feta was a saviour since I doubt I would have finished this otherwise. Marsala soaked figs was the one I actually liked the caramelised onions were great. Amandine was way to strong and sweet. One bite was one too many for me. Similar for the grilled cheese I didn't quite enjoy the veggie spice mix in there. I also got a mocha which I liked. On the whole this place was not for me. More so cause I enjoy different flavours and not necessarily because it's not good food. My friend still likes this place for once in a while.
Went here a couple of years back and enjoyed it, but we're lucky enough to have tons of good restaurants in this city, so I didn't make it back until last weekend for their Valentine's Day meal. Even though it was a to-go meal, it reheated perfectly with their (handwritten! instructions. The quality exceeded our expectations, the people there were super-friendly and clearly cared about the food, and now I'm hoping to get back there sooner to have some more crepes!
Super cute place! went this morning for brunch it was delicious. My partner got the egg sandwich which i was told was delicious and filling, we both got a cardamom latte and that was incredible. The mulled apple cider was a bit alcoholy but definitely worth it. I made my own crêpes because why not and I have to say the goat cheese with spinach is an absolute delight. The sweet crêpe was to die for because it had homemade Nutella Apples soaked in apple cider and salted caramel drizzle incredible.
I've eaten here twice now and both times were phenomenal! I always liked the idea of savory crepes but found myself underwhelmed by the execution, until I had the Smoked Salmon Afrique at Suzette an unexpected, glorious, perfectly balanced flavor combo. One of these days I have to try the other savory crepes. The second time I also ordered a Crepe Suzette with marzipan added, which was also excellent. I usually go for simple sweet crepes like lemon butter sugar, but this was rich without being too much. The Suzette sauce was just right, orangey and not too sweet or too bitter. So happy to be able to get such creative and delicious crepes in PDX!
