The Local Press - Portland

Hands down the best place for soup and a sandwich in Portland! And make sure you get the bruschetta! You won't regret it. Honestly this is one of my favorite places in Portland in general. I have never had a bad sandwich there! The Beacon Street is my personal favorite! The ice cream sandwiches and milkshakes are also amazing! The place is fun and cozy, the bar and rustic look in the new dine-in area is perfectly cozy and beautifully done! The owner and staff are super nice and personable, and they all go above and beyond! I remember my first experience with The Local Press was a couple of years ago. My boyfriend who is from NY loved this very specific panini he used to get back home and I wanted to surprise him for lunch one day. I was new to the area and couldn't find a place who would make it. I called up The Local Press and even though it wasn't a menu item they made it happen without even thinking twice about it! Seriously worth the visit.. or several!

Love this cozy neighborhood place. I’ve been a fan of their food for years now. The addition of their new full service restaurant/bar, the Tap•Side, is exactly what Deering Center was missing. A cozy bar serving local beer, and wine, as well as their signature food dishes. The owner, Casey, and the rest of his staff are all friendly, hardworking, and fun to chat with. I especially like the fun games they have on the bar top.

Hands down the best sandwich shop in Portland- and since the opening of Tapside is has become an awesome little neighborhood hang. Great food, great drinks, and awesome service. So glad that this is in our neighborhood!

This is my favorite place to have lunch in the Portland Area. Sandwiches are creative in flavor and the boars head meat never disappoints. I am always impressed and enjoy every bite.

The guys who work here are casual but efficient. They make you feel like you are part of the neighborhood. The meats and veggies are fresh. Best paninis by far! Their soups are delicious!! I love the rundown soup, lil' caribbean flavor and chicken tortilla soup from scratch!! Also, treat yourself to malted milkshakes, like no place else!! Lots of beer to choose if you eat in. YUMMM!!!
