Worst home fries I ever had. They were deep fried and over done.
OK. So, to the people from the big city where are you from? Apparently, you are retarded from wherever you are from because I am a world traveler and Becky 's has some of the best pancakes and muffins I have EVER had. There is a reason why this is the most popular breakfast place in Portland A city known the WORLD OVER for its restaurants. It infuriates me that you are so pathetic as to bag on a place still run by the namesake. As for the bad service, I like the service, it suits the place and in fact, I was there this past Sunday and the little touches like my waitress telling me Becky’s daughter made the muffins this morning, their good is worth her running around. Oh and let me get this straight, you spend 12 dollars one meal for four people in the big city that is just a lie. You want something better than 7 8 dollars a plate? Get crawl into a dumpster, oh in another state OUTSIDE OF NEW ENGLAND. You are a stupid, small minded snob who infests a great state, go back to New York or wherever else you think you can find a better place than Portland because I don 't need you hating on my delicious Becky’s. GOD you people make me so angry it 's stupid. You made fun of a place cause it didn 't close when they were remodeling...did you bother to read the menu? Open 352.5 days a year they service the OPERATING AND MAJOR HOBSONS WARF THAT’S WHY THEIR OPEN AT 4AM, strange, did you even know where you were? Rachel Ray? RACHEL RAY? You’re pathetic. If anyone has made it this far, go to Becky’s get a muffin maybe some eggs, a cup of coffee...oh you 'll have to get there before 9 if you want the blueberry, because you know, us Podunk world traveling college educated small city retards loves us some muffinses.
Listen, this place is pretty interesting. It opens like at 4 am, and seems to be extremely popular among locals. For us, coming from a big city this place seemed if anything strange. They just opened and haven't even finished anything in building there. Not that we were eating on bricks, but part of the charm of any restaurant is the design, and not unfinished and unpainted walls. We ate on the veranda though with a nice ocean breeze and it was good there. The first floor was very busy though. This place is really popular and there was a lineup when we were leaving. There were two girls waitresses on the veranda who served us and I thought they were way overworked because they had to run back and forth on the stairs with big trays. The service was probably one of the worst services I have ever had in North America. We ordered blueberry pancakes for the kids, which I thought were very good. Hash browns that are usually a great start of the day for me were terrible absolutely no flavor at all. I had an omelet which was good. My husband was not very impressed with his typical eggs bacon breakfast. I thought overall maybe for Portland this place is great, but just based on our breakfast experience this was not the best ever place. I think the bill came to 35 dollars, when if we eat at a typical fast food eatery, it is only 12 dollars at most. Suit yourself. This place was recommended by Rachel Ray in her show. Yeah, almost forgot, parking is a real big problem there, because people block your car, park all over you, and there is no way to get out at all, except you have to go in and find someone who is willing to move his car so you can leave. Maybe in a month or two, when the construction is over there and everyone is accustomed to working as waiters and cooks it will be better.
Becky? I had the Commercial Street Sandwich w/ Home Fries and my husband had the Bacon, 2 eggs, Toast meal. Both were delicious! My sandwich was perfectly buttery and the bacon was crisp I loved every bite and you can not beat the price $7). A random thing we really liked.. The coffee cup kept the coffee for a long time hot I usually drink a few cups on a diner because you don't want it cold, but here I had a cup all the meal! It seems like a small detail, but it made coffee for a big first morning. We were there on Thursday at 11:30 and waited about 30 minutes for 2 people. So ready to wait, but it's absolutely worth it!
