Chairs and stand look a bit worn, but comfortable. Husband ordered the salmon and I had the Gnocchi, both were delicious and came out in time. If we were back in Portland, you would definitely go back, maybe next time you leave room for desserts as they also looked yum.
Trip Advisor Review Food Category: Edwards Waterfront About: Edwards Waterfront Café is part of Richmond Henty Hotel Complex, consisting of accommodation, bistro, Pokies and cafe. Edwards is located on the shore overlooking the port of Portland. I've been visiting this café for 25 years. For breakfast, the view of the sunrise is absolutely beautiful. This establishment has been in operation for over 40 years and has recently changed ownership in 2022. Richmond Henty is part of the Choice Hotel Group, which offers a wide range of hospitality service. Edwards Waterfront offers a kind of food in Portland similar to current Australian cuisine for all types of cartridges. Great for getting in with friends and family or even an intimate dinner. They offer a selection of cakes in their cake cabinet along with teas and coffee and beer, wine and spirits. Menu: On this occasion the dinner was my choice of review. Fair prices for the current trend and market in Portland is an a-la-cart menu and table service. There is a limited menu with 12 Entrees, 4 pages dishes and 13 nets of Chicken Schnitzels, Seafood Risotto, Porterhouse Steak and Lamb Curry. Nothing special, easy and nothing to rave. Reading the menu is subdued and similar can be found in a local pub in the city. Experience: Entering the café, we were greeted by one of the two waiting staff with a short smile and a mouse volume greeting. We were a group of 6 and sat on our table as soon as the waiter found the booking sheet. In the next 5 minutes we were offered drinks and took about 10 minutes to get out. After setting and short scanning of the menu we were asked if we were ready to order our food. We asked the waiter if they could come back because we didn't even have to look at the menu and could come back a short time later in the polite and interactive way. After 15 minutes and the whole table had decided what we all wanted to order, we all tried to attract one of the waiters attention. After numerous attempts to attract their attention, nothing seemed to work. 30 minutes later I finally managed to say something louder while the waiter flew around on the next table with the setting of the table. The waiter seemed to ignore the request and put the table next to us and then a few minutes later decided to take our order. At that time, I had observed that I had about 20 cartridges of food and most were already served food and drinks. A mixture of a table of 4 and 2’s. Food: After collecting the tables, my timer started. 55 minutes later we received our order. I was very keen to try the Seafood Risotto and my partner had the Gnocchi. Also ordered around the table were Pork Belly, Lachs, Porterhouse Steak and Chicken Schnitzel. Initially looking at the Risotto, it seemed to have a yellow ting to the sauce, as it was stained with a spice of turmeric or saffron, but also not in the taste as I continue to eat the Risotto. At the first taste, my first mouth was overwhelming. Bland was the first thing that came into mind and second the rice they had used was not Risotto. as white medium rice. The quality of this risotto corresponded to a frozen meal that you would eat from the frozen part of the supermarket. Gnocchi were also average. Over boiled gnocchi, bland and tasteless. I really mean, what is wrong with a little spice the dish before it meets the customer table. The rest of the meals around the table seems to be satisfactory enough, but there was nothing to rave. Advantages and disadvantages: Overall, the culinary experience was disappointing when considering that about 10 years ago, this was the place to eat and enjoy the culinary experience of Portland deserves. The waiting personnel did not seem to care and their attitude to customer service was quite unavailable. What's wrong with a little "Hi, how are you? How was your day today? Thanks for coming and I hope you enjoy your night with us.” Even if you don't care, it's easy to be nice and build this customer relationship. Positive is that this was not the worst experience, but it is up there. Edwards Waterfront; if you read this review, please make some changes. Train your home staff. Your food is garbage and really needs more attention. Please note that this assessment is subjective, but I will not coat sugar.
Dinner for a birthday party on Thursday night. People who had not booked a table were allowed to jump the queen and order at the counter instead of waiting for the table. I ordered something simple, fish and chips. Waited an hour while people who had ordered me were served. Dinner was a stone cold bad pub lunch that consisted of 3 greasy fishtail on a pile of stone cold chips directly from a plastic bag and a dry limp salad without dressing. The only good thing to say was that the salad was warmer than the rest of the meal. No desert offered. Didn't you have coffee and cake in a display cabinet since when?? Quite disappointed and would not recommend it.
We like to buy and eat locally to support our companies. We went to lunch today, which we have done many times. How disappointing! Apparently new owners. The employees were slow and seemed confused about their roles. Our gift voucher was not honored...(expected Feb 2023). We're supposed to take it to another business in town. We're not coming back. The owners: Remember 1 person says on average 10 people and the 10 say more 10. You need to improve or you will lose many customers.
Went with work colleagues and we ordered the share plate, local calamari and oysters all good servings. We also order lamb rack, fresh salmon, risotto and steak. Serving sizes were good, my steak was very tender, plenty of asparagus and potato stack on the side....No complaints from anyone else, well worth the value for the service and food quality
