The last time I dined at this restaurant, it wasn't great. However, this time it was fantastic! It's incredible how much has changed in the past year. The food was amazing.
Fight to get a drink at the bar. Waited for one hour for a parmy and a carving and the carving was half raw (the thin parts were cooked and eaten until the thicker parts were found) asked for a refund and was rude...refused. The meal was eaten less than 1/4!
Beautiful atmosphere, tidy and well-removed dining area. Visited on Tuesday night, meals area less than half full. Beer both tapped and can/bottle beer selection VERY POOR, only be redeemed by a (adventurous choice)? Pirate Life Pale Ale on Hahn....Craft beer lover definitely not accommodated here! Food service delivered pleasantly, but a long waiting period (50 minutes). Essen presentation food was presented beautifully. Food quality seafood selection average, expects fresh/better at a fishing port. About boiled scallops and squid. Miniscule salad and the green were limp. Lukewarm Chips Food HSP Parma Sauce mixture was nice BUT THE SCHNITZEL WAS OVERCOOKED (burned in stains and hard to eat. Salad also miniscule and the greens were limp. Chips were only lukewarm. Price average pub prices. Sad, as a package, not good enough for me to recommend.
We decided to have dinner at this restaurant after hearing that it was one of the oldest pubs in Portland. The interior was quite plain and unremarkable. We ordered the fisherman's platter, which included a variety of fried fish, calamari, and shrimp. However, we found that the batter was overly thick and heavy.
