Contribuisci feedbackLupin had been recommended by several vegan blogs and on social media. From enjoying a fantastic last night 's meal in Porto yesterday with my mother, I can definitely see why! The food was absolutely delicious and innovative easily the best I ate whilst in Porto with plenty of choice often rare for vegans! Lupin serve interesting takes on traditional Portuguese dishes (Francesinha, Nata, Caldo Verde, stews... but all completely vegan, and very tasty, using lots of fresh, local ingredients. The raw beetroot 'ravioli ' with cashew nut cheese was a fantastic starter. Extremely well priced, the staff were friendly and the owner chef welcomed us warmly upon arrival. A stylish, neighbourhood restaurant which I wish was closer to home! I live in Brighton (UK where we are spoilt for vegan food but this was as good as the food I enjoy at home. The wine was also excellent and again, well priced. Don 't miss the mushroom pate couvert either! Whilst it is a little out of the city centre, a taxi from the river by Dom Luis I bridge was less than 5 Euro and we walked back (mostly downhill! in around 20 minutes. I am very surprised by some of the lower reviews below and very glad I visited Lupin. I hope to visit again!
We had to take a 5€ cab ride to get to Lupin but it was well worth it. The food is imaginative, beautifully prepared, and probably the best vegan/vegetarian experience we have had anywhere in Portugal (the worst was being served uncooked, unripe tomatoes and onions as a 'vegetarian option ', but that 's another story). I probably couldn 't praise this place too highly. We went for my wife 's birthday dinner and it really made the day perfect. Delicious food and it doesn 't break the bank.
Without any previous research my daughter and I (vegan/pescatarian) ended up here. Don’t let the outside fool you : this place is AMAZING! Extremely welcoming, very hospitable and caring, spotless clean, elegant yet sober decor. Very decent prices for exquisite vegan cuisine! They have really thought of some awesome flavorful dishes and recipes. Very original and tasty, I would definately recommend this place and return myself. We had amazing food here ! Hats off to the creative chef!
A hidden gem!!! what looks like nothing special from the outside turns out to be the best vegan place with the most heartwarming team!! the food is extraordinary. pastel de nata is a must!!!! the people working there are so lovely and the owner herself is so very sympathic. best way to spend our last evening in porto. see you soon
We can’t say enough about our amazing experience here. We arrived a bit earlier than the average diner and were the first guests for the evening. Everything we had was amazing! Caldo Verde soup and sweet potato chips for starters were devoured! The chef’s take on vegan chorizo must be experienced. Our hostess for the evening was absolutely sweet and fluent in several languages. Worth the trip from wherever you are in the area!
