We arrived at Pipa Velha Sunday night around 11:00. The place was fairly busy but seats were available. There are two rooms up front plus a patio out back. Patrons smoke indoors here. The music was a cool, chilled vibe. Guests were laid paid enjoying a leisurely Sunday evening. The place is fairly dark. Lots of stone and wood. It has been around for a long time. We had a cheese board, some beer and wine. Prices are extremely fair. Service was consistent with the whole atmosphere of the place. We were not in a rush, so it suited us just fine. The crowd seems fairly artsy. It was an attitude free zone. I would say it is the perfect space to hang out over drinks at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning.
We waited over half an hour for TOAST.. They forgot our order and made no apology for the delay. This would potentially be overlooked if it weren’t for the bad bar service as well. With 3 staff members behind the bar and no other customers we were ignored. The toast however was GREAT! Best cheese toastie in Porto.
This restaurant has been closed for several years. the photos are from the paradise club of the mouth, that is a sports community served lunchtime, but is not the old tasco foz as I said a few years ago.
We weren't too hungry, but my boyfriend knew already about the great chorizo you can grill yourself at your table. Combined with the pimientos de padrón and the wheat bread this was a culinary experience de luxe super cozy place, very recommendable
