Popina - Porto

That's the second time I ate in popina. all the dishes we ordered were excellent. the pork saucer was so delicate and tasteful (meaning, the more sturdy taste said he wanted a bit more salt, but I thought it was right). we also ordered salted mushrooms, codfish butter, rice stew with tomato and red paprika, roasted green beans, paprika and garnel. all were delicious. we went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too busy, which is perfect for us friends to meet. the waiter was attentive, but not too much in the way. he even made me a limonade that wasn't on the menu.

We had a lovely meal at this charming place. Our waitress was wonderfully kind and told us (when asked) that she thought we might be ordering too much food. We dialed back and were so glad we did! It’s refreshing to not be pushed to spend more in order to increase the tip. Cheese plate, green beans, pork cheek stew were delicious, we had no room for dessert! It was hard to believe we had such a great meal and bottle of wine for the price.
