Over charged our us 22euros for wine, which was included in the menu of the day (menú del día) and became defensive and cocky when asked about the charge. He was plain horrible, causing us to have a negative dining experience. The bartender was pretty bad also had NO customer service skills whatsoever. Will NOT be returning and will advise out of town visitors to drive past this restaurant and go to another one where the staff is normal. There are far too many good restaurants out there with efficient, friendly staff and one does not have to put up with this type of treatment from Castro de Barona.
Came here for a much needed cold drink after hiking to the Castro and back. Friendly staff, nice cold beer and plenty of seating inside and out.
We had our doubts about stopping here due to the rather unimpressive look of the restaurant, but we were soon proved wrong. The staff were kind and the service was very efficient. The food too was certainly palatable, and the pulpo (a traditional staple of Galician cuisine) was especially good. I would definitely recommend a visit when in the area. The only problem was the decor, which was substandard for a restaurant of such quality.
