We came over this small restaurant with the most beautiful views and thought we would stop and have lunch. we were going to end as they obviously do not want to serve us or accept our dog. would they be very cautious to go to this little restaurant that clearly no longer needs money for her business as they were not busy?
We spent 5 days in monchique and after a visit we could not resist coming back for a second evening. such authentic but so professional host, good eating and beautiful wine. we liked the appetizers, the meat, the fish, .not the biggest card, but everything...on it is fresh and delicious!
A rampa was well known, friends from Iissabon would go there. the journey worth as they say in the leaders. we haven't been around for seven years. there was a change of own and it shows. there is no name change and...no attempt to offer anything else, no change of style. the standard meal was a sinking first cure, carved by local ham, now the appearance of pre packed. the star was that huh, was stolen, seems to be a gas grill now. their own peri peri, not now. the chips were thin little dinge. word seems to have been around, possibly no Portuguese customers, three tables with English, all a vintage to known former glories. on a plus side there was no shipping company. at least it looks the same. the staff was friendly and helpful to the young children. pity over eating. used to be worth the trip, now not worth it, from the coast up.
The ownership has changed, but the food was plentiful and lovely, and the views all the way to the Alvor Estury. Well worth a visit
