Not in this place we have ordered grilled sardines and fish in passion fruit sauce with grilled bananas ( best part of the meal bdw) all frozen and both served with frozen veg mix (pea green beans and carrots) and microwaved local garlic bread served with sachets olive oil and vinegar!!!. disgusting . On top of this all accompanied by ill look cats running between your legs. We have paid 30 euro not worth at all . Avoid this place
Nice restaurant located on a square next to the church, not expensive. Friendly staff. Fresh fish with banana and passion fruit is delicious.
Lots of flies and horrible cats lurking by your feet... staff not approachable at all... not welcoming like other places on the island
We stayed on this island in an all inclusive resort so decided to have a time out and go for an authentic island meal. After getting the shuttle bus to the town we walked around a bit and came across two restaurants in the main square open with people eating outside. The only problem we had was at both restaurants there were gangs of cats loitering near where people where eating, I am allergic and afraid of cats so after debating for a while we sat inside this small restaurant and decided to order, it has about four tables. The poor waiter was obviously on this own and very stressed so it took a while for us to get served but we were not in a hurry so no problems. We eventually ordered a starter each, main course and a couple of beers. Surprisingly enough the meal did not take long to prepare and came quite speedily. I had tuna (a little over cooked) and my parter had steak in a sauce. He enjoyed his and I think I might have enjoyed mine if it had been in a sauce as was quite dry. The veggies were very over cooked and then a big pile of salad on the side, which neither of us touched,p. Overall the bill came to €30 so not a bad price.
This was my favourite restaurant on Porto Santo and the only one that we ate at twice :-)Right in the centre of town on the main square (Next to the church) – Nice Large outside sitting area and offering an excellent value “Menu of the day” at under 6 Euro as well as a large selection of food choices on the main menu. The food is excellent and the staff the nicest we came across on our visit to the island – Also a good place for chilling after eating (Or even if you haven’t eaten) – Try the little liqueurs served in a chocolate cup – Mmmmmmm and Very Moreish :-)
