From all restaurants in pestana porto santo hotel, this was the winner of a country mile. it not only felt like in a Michelin star restaurant, but it was the only restaurant that had table service for all courses. sure does not make it the best of restaurants, but it made the evening feel special. we sat with a glass champagne and gave some warm brot and butter. it was also a real highlight to get high quality wine glasses for the first and only time during our stay. this led to a significant improvement of the wee, which was added to the overall experience. this added to a beautiful quiet and relaxed atmosphere, while it was very smart, comfortable and with well-chosen decor at the same time. at the beginning my wife and I had the vegetarian option of a carrot, a courgette and a sun-dried tomatensalat, while their parents had an salate with a carpaccio of any kind. both were delicious and beautifully presented. the next cure was a fertile soup for the vegetarian option, and a shyfish, garnel and mussel shell for the standard choice. both courts were divine and looked great. afterwards followed a vegetarian lasagne, who was absolutely delicious, and probably the best we eat during our stay. I can't remember what the standard main thing was here, but I think it was a kind of bark, and I know it was very enjoyed! our desserts were the same for both menu choices and were great. we had an orange sorbet ice cream, paired with a beautiful melting chocolate brew (or similar) and a strawberry sauce. I just want to think about it! another real strength of this restaurant was the service. the personal was thoroughly professional, incredibly polite and wonderfully dressed. which was particularly helpful was that the waiters for the first time again offer top-ups on our wine and new drinks as necessary. this did not happen in the buffet or one of the other restaurants. really a fantastic evening and restaurant, med places a nice example that the other restaurants would do very well to try! a wonderful experience, many thanks!
