We stopped in this awesome tiny little place, ordered our food . People coming and going . The girl alone mind you behind the counter busting out food like crazy I’d never let her go) when we finally sat down to eat it was amazing. My favorite place to eat is Gilleys and I’m shouting it from the rooftops!!!!!!
Comfort food at its finest. A destination eatery, frequented on many a night in my well-spent youth when Ralph Gilbert worked his wizardry when it was parked in Market Square, in my adventurous advanced age I still make the pilgrimage. One always gets a great dog and delicious beans at Gilley's. Though I am kind of old school and go there primarily to feast on the hot dogs, my girls always enjoyed the cheesy fries. Whether with my mom or my kids, you just can't beat Gilley's
My first time being there yesterday and was good. Hard to believe it was a cart at one point. But was able to watch a bit of cops on tv.
Arleene is great! I think there may have been a new cook (from the sounds, of him not knowing some of the “regulars” First visit in, in my new town I’m calling home. Grabbed a breakfast sandwich that was undeniably delish! Service from Arleene, was great-perfect! Happy to have this little late night gem, in town. Spent a lot of years in Lowell, hitting up the train cart diners, both morning and late night. Dig it! WISH they have table/and service. Regardless, undeniably a Portsmouth staple and New England brand. Go here!
A great piece of history nestled in between the growth of a city. The chili burger was the taste of my day. Keep up the great work and preserve this little piece of local history!
