Market Street Cafe - Portsmouth

The food is delicious, and the atmosphere feels very welcoming. It's a fantastic spot for lunch!

I’ve always enjoyed the food here, but there are some issues. You have to wait in line to be seated, and then there’s a long wait for your meal. Afterward, you have to line up again to pay, with people picking up orders or placing takeout requests. I won’t return until they resolve these issues.

I believe the issue might stem from the younger generation of staff. They could benefit from training in customer service and how to treat patrons with respect. Unfortunately, their demeanor often comes across as rude and impersonal, leading to unpleasant experiences. It's disheartening to see that this seems to be a common trend in many places today, but it really doesn't have to be. A little kindness can make a significant difference.

Their wraps and potato soup are really good! Service could use some improvement. Wish the would make taking payment at the table standard practice. It gets really chaotic trying to pay up front with people crowding in to pick up to go orders, while some are just trying to get seated.

I love market st. Cafe. They are open on Monday and I always go for, what I call, market st. Monday . Try it all. Sugar cookies are terrific.
