The Shanty Family Tavern - Portsmouth

The food is delicious, I have had the smash burger, the jambalaya and lasagna. The portions are big and the staff is so very friendly. I love going there.

Stopped in yesterday afternoon for lunch with my boyfriend. Hunter was great, and all the food we got (including dessert to go) was delicious! We will definitely be back!

This is a great place to go for lunch. So I must say it is a great place to have dinner. And don't forget if you want to watch sports this is the place. And l can't forget the BEST BARTENDERS IN THE BUSINESS.

Service was great, food was delicious. They messed up our order but gave us a credit to fix it.

The only reason I’m giving 3 stars and wasting my time leaving a review is because I feel so bad for the server tonight. My wife and I walked in tonight and the place was packed. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for leaving a young girl all by herself to handle the entire restaurant. She was so overwhelmed. We ended up leaving because I didn’t want to make her feel anymore stressed. The only reason we came in tonight was based on the website story of The Shanty. Whoever the owners are should be so ashamed for running a business like this and having such horrible working conditions. Hire more employees.
