Library Restaurant At The Rockingham House

I have been to this place quite a few times, and have never been disappointed. The staff that greets you is always friendly, the service is always spot on, and the food...well, it's mouthwatering. My steak was perfectly cooked last night, and I had tried the house Mac and cheese for the first time...to die for. Unfortunately last night was one exception to typically great service. Our waiter/waitress (I say that so no one gets in trouble) was just okay, and at the end we had our card out ready to pay and instead of bringing us the check, he/she asked if we would like the card run without even seeing the check. It just seemed a little off. Honestly not a huge deal, but it still would have been nice to have a glance first.

Great atmosphere... I sat in the lounge since I was alone. The bar had a great feel... Like 'I could be a regular here ' kind of place. The whole place was very organic and slightly upscale... I was very comfortable and I would not hesitate to try and impress a client at this establishment. The service was very professional and prompt. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon... I found it to be tender, prepared to my liking, and quite flavorful. Prices are upscale but not outrageous... I feel like I got my money 's worth. I 'll definitely go back!

We were staying at a B&B in Dover for my birthday. I really wanted a good steak and the owner directed us to the Library. We fell in love. The chef was extremely accommodating to a request most chefs would have denied. The waitress was very attentive and friendly and helped me enjoy my birthday dinner, along with several of the diners around us. The steak was all I had hoped for and more and the Bang Bang Shrimp was delish. We both loved the atmosphere as well. Liked it so much we went back there today for lunch. It would be a three hour ride for us to get back there so we tried to get our fill while in the area. Had the bang, bang shrimp again. Yum. Don't pass it by if you're in the area. Thank you to the management and staff for a memorable birthday dinner.

We had the best steaks, best drinks, the best server ever!! You must go sit in the pub!!

So good and great atmosphere. Everything was delicious and the people were awesome! We showed up on a Saturday night with no reservations so we weren't surprised to have to wait. We didn't mind waiting at the bar while having a drink, got to chat with the owner, great guy with who exudes his love for his staff. Overall such a great place, can't wait to go back!
