Mowchak - Portsmouth

I consider myself a curry connoisseur, if I should even admit to that. lol. Three of us came from Gosport for a meal last night. I had been to Mowchak once before and loved it. I realised again, why, last night. Onion bhaji's are like huge cricket balls and delicious, warning, they are so big get one portiin between two! The curry was fantastic and the naan bread was delicious. The also serve bottles of Bangla beer. The decor is like something from the 90's, which is exactly how an indian retaurant should be. I love the Mowchak and will regularly return. Please don't ever change. It is also very reasonably priced.

Each year we book for Christmas day and are never disappointed. Food is excellent and the staff work so hard and are very friendly. Can't wait for this Christmas and we will book as soon as we can, I always pester them to see when we can book! Well done guys and a happy new year.

I chose the vegetarian option and the server went above and beyond to offer items that were not listed on the menu. I was very grateful for his effort, but unfortunately, the items were only moderately tasty and not worth the price.

Lovely curry great service you pay for what you get well worth it will definitely be going back as enjoyed the meal and very cosy inside will be booking Xmas day

I have to admit, I can't believe I hadn't tried this place sooner. This Indian restaurant has been around for years and serves exceptional high-quality food. I enjoyed every bite of the dishes I tried, many of which were new to me. The service was good and they gave us plenty of time between dishes, which we appreciated. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon.
