The Guildhall Village - Portsmouth

My son held his wedding reception here. Food was fab. The barman Lewis was brilliant all though he should have had some help at times Sadly the Landlord left alot to be disired and did spoil what had been a fabulous day and night.

Our group of 6 had made a reservation in advance for dinner at The Southsea Village before heading to an event at the Guildhall. Despite having had enjoyable experiences at this restaurant in the past, our recent visit was disappointing. Upon arrival, we found that many items on the menu were out of stock, including several beers. The staff informed us that they were also out of pizza dough, which was our planned meal choice. However, they managed to cobble together enough dough to make two pizzas for us. Due to the limited menu availability, four of us had to choose alternative dishes. The food was served in a disjointed manner, with some meals arriving late or missing items. Additionally, we experienced issues with the shuffleboard we had rented, as we were not seated near it and had trouble accessing it without disturbing other patrons. Overall, our dinner experience was subpar, and we likely won't be returning for food or shuffleboard anytime soon. Despite the disappointments, the staff was friendly, and the venue itself is pleasant for a drink.

Best cat friendly pub. They have 2 pub cats which you can ask to see if they aren't already downstairs, if the owner is in they'll bring them down, and you can bring your own cat! (Has to be on lead/in a cat backpack and no cat feet on tables! Also great food and drinks and friendly staff, good music, nice atmosphere and clean

Come here quite often with my partner for drinks and food. The staff are all always absolutely lovely. Only reason for 4 stars are not 5 is because they took Nachos off the menu!!! please bring them back <3

Booked the downstairs area for a private function, from start to finish the service was excellent and I can highly recommend this venue for your celebration. Alice the assistant manager is brilliant and very helpful in helping us the plan the venue. The evening was as we had hoped Alice and her team were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Alice was off that evening but came in to make sure everything was ok and to congratulate the happy couple. Food was excellent and plenty of it which was great. We will be back when we need to celebrate again. Thanks Alice to you and your team!
