The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a majority of seating outdoors and a cozy indoor area. It can get chilly at times, but they do provide blankets to keep warm.

Located on Florence Road, The Garden is a hidden gem that is only open from May to September each year. I always make sure to visit at least once during this time. They offer a separate vegan menu and even have a vegan burger with chips for kids, in case you don't want to order off the regular menu for them. This year's menu includes pizzas, light bites, and the popular grilled corn "ribs" served with avocado dressing. Their dessert selection is impressive and the setting of the restaurant is truly charming.

I visited this restaurant shortly after their opening in 2022. It is tucked away in a side street, and I only noticed it as we approached. Despite the garden seating being right by the road, it is surprisingly quiet. The courtyard is a good size with trees and other elements that make you feel like you're not in a backstreet in Portsmouth. While there is indoor seating available, the focus is on sitting outside. They offer a dedicated vegan menu, although I was a bit confused because the dessert menu appeared to be the same as the regular menu. I would advise double-checking whether all desserts are vegan before ordering. I reached out to inquire about vegan hot chocolate and received a thoughtful and informative response confirming they do offer it, apparently with several vegan staff members. The vegan menu didn't have as many options as I initially thought due to its layout, but there is still enough for multiple visits, especially if you enjoy pizza. I tried the creole spiced corn ribs, which were tasty, although the chips were a bit soggy. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, making it a great option for a sunny day in Southsea.

The vegan menu is creative and exciting. It was almost impossible to choose. The wine menu is also clearly labelled with vegan wines.
