The entire experience at this hotel was magical due to Maddie who worked the front desk other staff encountered including one of the owners wasn't nearly as friendly but could have been a bad day for them . While we understand that every hotel is short staff right now, she went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. There were some hiccups with breakfast not being available due to staffing issues and a few other small housekeeping items but I believe we would definitely stay here again. Beautiful views, Close to everything, and just a short driving distance to many trails and parks. I would definitely give Maddie 5 stars. As far as the overall hotel.... I'd say 3.5 stars and the buffet breakfast would get a 1 star as it mostly did the job it was supposed to and fed the kids.
My daughter was having back surgery and booked this room for her recovery with family to help her. After being released from the hospital we had to actually change rooms due to a problem with the mini fridge, I asked if it could just be swapped out with a different one but not an option. Then the beds were so high she couldn’t get in one, so we asked for a recliner chair that is usually in most handicapped rooms and were informed they didn’t have any. We then asked if we could bring in a chaise lounge for her and was told no it was a fire hazard. I explained we had more than enough room without blocking any isle or doorway but still the answer was no! They wouldn’t even come to the room to see for themselves. So we decided to leave the next morning because she could not get comfortable sitting up in a chair all night and the pain was excruciating. After informing the front desk that we would be checking out and were in fact already in the process of by 9:00am the woman at the desk said we needed to contact Expedia for a refund and let them know we were cancelling part of our reservation. So we did and they said the hotel had to cancel the remaining days of the reservation before they could ask for the refund. Tried multiple times to call the hotel and no one ever answered and no message line. Anyway the hotel was not honest about the checking out process and has refused to issue a refund. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had! The pool spa was gross and hadn’t been maintained, the ceiling next to our room was leaking and falling in, the room wasn’t clean, the restaurant was always closed and we did have a view of the river but the windows were old and fogged up in between the panes so you couldn’t really see much. The pictures posted on their website are very deceiving, doesn’t look like that at all.
It is a beautiful location and space. great view. but unfortunately a little service difficultness. not enough employees in service rooms. the bar and restaurant seemed to be quite limited in the hours of the service, but the quality was very high for me. seating and comfort in the lobby and deck was great. enjoy our 3 days stay but would have liked clean towels! the indoor pool and the spa very nice, but not sure how much they are waiting. water toy and access to river and marina should be a attraction to many.
We had a great time. location was phenomenal. the personal was a bit. maybe revised. lol they were a little less than excited to be there. but I took up everything I wanted. the whole experience was great. very recommended for a family holiday. the rooms are a little tired, but it is an old hotel chain, so, for the price that was very affordable, it was nothing else than smile from this family.
