Need fresh seafood to cook at home, brought to you by specialists who know and displayed so you can see clearly the quality and the cuts? Check. Remember all the fabulous bakery treats like rum buns from the restaurant it was in Bethesda decades ago? Still good. Add salads, sides, great staff, and dining in or outside for lunch or early dinner, and toss in prepared meals for two for $25 that you can heat and serve at home, and you have maybe half the great things about this wonderful market. I proposed to my now wife over 25 years ago in O'Donnell's. The owner still remembers. They are THAT good.
Great neighborhood spot for either take out or dine in. There are a few outdoor tables, however that might be seasonal. The pastries are pretty incredible, but if you?re a seafood fan it doesn?t get fresher. A go to for high end and sometimes hard to find fish. They have reasonably priced sashimi. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. Pro tip, Wednesdays they have a family meal that changes weekly. Usually a main and 2 sides and is better priced than buying from the counter a la carte.
I?ve gone to O?Donnell?s exclusively for my oyster fix in MoCo. They have such a variety of food and if you love oysters you have stop by here. They have happy hours where their oysters are only $1. The staff is so kind and if you have a sweet tooth, the bakery is a MUST. Their desserts are delicious and I?m not even that much of a sweet tooth. If you have to get anything make sure to try the rum bun and the key lime pie but anything is amazing. As for other dine-in foods, the burger is really good and comes with 2 sides. I always look forward to coming in to O?Donnell?s, they have the best staff and the best food. Can?t wait to stop by again.
Just enjoyed a truly wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner. The turkey breast was excellent after following the directions for warming it up, the sides including the corn bread stuffing were just excellent. In this year of Covid-19 we enjoyed a true Thanksgiving meal. This is truly my 'go to ' place for a quick lunch of soup, crab cake sandwich or soft shell sandwich when in season....JUST A JOY EVERY TIME!!!
Found this place online when I was craving clam chowder. Went in wanting to get clam chowder but came out with a stomach full of tuna salad and soft shell crab sandwich. My bf and I sat at the bar in the back of the store, passing a pastry, seafood, and prepared foods counter. Everything was really clean and did not smell fishy at all. I liked the fact that it was an open kitchen and you can see everything prepared for you. The menu was small but the dishes were all well prepared. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich which came with a side of fries and Cole slaw. The tuna was fresh and did not leave a fishy aftertaste. The bf ordered a soft shell crab sandwich that the chef battered and fried right in front of us) that also came with fries and slaw. Overall, the food was fresh and very fulfilling.
