I visited with my six-year-old and ordered the French doll and the Caesar salad [available in half a price/half during the first hour of the service]. what a perfect opportunity for my six-year-old son has his first culinary experience. kelly was a sweet server and very accommodating with my little guy. I think I'd have stumbled over our jubilee goal!
Good fine dining. Staff is nice. Good conversations. Sometimes their soups rock, other times not. Sorbets are always phenomenal. Entrees are always high quality and mostly delish. Desserts hit or miss.
This is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in the northern region. The service is highly professional and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed the filet and steak tips; both dishes were outstanding and beautifully presented. Our children attend the local university, and we can't wait to visit 1844 the next time we're in town. We're grateful that they have managed to thrive with such a fantastic selection, especially during the pandemic when many have struggled.
This restaurant, while a bit off the beaten path, is a delightful place to dine. The food is exceptionally good, reaching fantastic levels that you might find in a Michelin-starred establishment. They grow many of their own herbs and some fruits, which contributes to the incredible freshness and flavor of their dishes, allowing the chef the creative freedom to craft a truly unique and delicious menu. The cocktails and desserts are also outstanding, making the entire experience a must for anyone who hasn’t visited yet. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I have to say that the filet of beef is by far the best dish on the menu. I traveled over a thousand miles to eat here, and it was absolutely worth the journey.
What a wonderful place! The dinner was fantastic, and the service was friendly and efficient, just like always! We absolutely love it there and always visit when we're in the city. It's so sad to hear that the owners are selling. They have worked so hard to build this business and their exceptional cuisine. Their attention to detail is second to none, making each experience truly special. Whoever buys this restaurant will be getting a real gem. We are grateful for Brown and Jenny and thank them for the wonderful memories we've made there over the years.
